Well weekend was a bit of a miss however peeps did dive and some fish did come out! There’s Brusher, Garrick, Snoek, Cape yellowtail, Natal stumpnose, Spotted grunter and Wahoo (Zululand) around atm.

With fish this week we have Master Richardt Botes with a lekker Daga salmon, Master Louis Schourie with a just sub 13kg Garrick north, Kobus Delport with a decent Cape yellowtail Bluff and Chad Minaar with a size Wahoo Zululand! Aweh lad’s!

The SW wind is blowing now this afternoon and dies later this evening giving way to great weather tomorrow. Light offshore in the morning switching to a light onshore in the afternoon. Surf start’s off sizey in the morning and drops off nicley in the afternoon.

We have spring tides in a couple of day’s and it’s New Moon atm. High tide tomorrow is at 15h00 with low tide at 09h00 and 21h15.

North coast starting to clean up and there’s viz down past Scottburgh in the south. Temps are higher north coast around 21/22 degC with south coast around 20 degC.

Sardines were netted today at Umzumbe on the south coast with a couple of good nets coming out plus there are more heading up from Transkei as I write this report.

Umhlanga Spearfishing club is holding their Sodwana Blue water open competition in September check out the attached poster for details. It’s normally a banger event and not one to miss!

As always dive safe and straight spears from the Bear.
