So yeah the weekend was a tad of a whipe out what with the swell and wind!
This week as well with the swell especially today and now we have a 20knt NE wind blowing…meh!
However the SN current is still pushing against the East and this has kept the clean water in down from Toti to Park Rynie. Sea looking very nice and blue that side today just a difficult swim/launch to say the least!
Sea temps dropped by this morning to 20 degC on the north and 19 to 20 degC on the south coast. Tides tomorrow are high tide at 06h42/18h55 and low tide at 12h47. There’s still quite a bit of tidal difference so fish will be working the tides.
With fish this week we have Garryd Ensor with a decent Poensie (Black mussle cracker), Noah Whittle with a PB Brusher (White mussle cracker) of 10kg south, Master Juggs Holtzman and Gelnn Van and mate’s getting Snoek, Couta and kingies up at Vidal in Zululand last week! Aweh lads lekker feesh!
There’s Garrick and Big Brusher and Stumpies around the shallows with plenty Geelbek and Daga salmon out deeper atm. The Snoek and Couta are all heading North towards the end of the season so the further north you go the better your chances of meeting up with the Mackies.
The NE wind blows into the evening drops off and blows again tomorrow afternoon switching the swell to East swell at 7 seconds in the arvo.
Sardines were very scarce today and obviously the surf hampered the netters as well. Sean from the.sardine.co.za say’s there’s plenty Sardines heading up still in the Transkei!
As always dive safe and straight spears from the Bear.
