Spring rains. Bear Report 08-10-2021

Hi peeps and welcome to the Bear’s weekend dive report brought to you by thesardine.co.za and masterwatermen.co.za.

Rain, rain and more rain was the story of the week with plenty rivers popping their banks and spewing super moo brown water into the ocean. So finding the gaps in the river water to get viz is the trick at the moment! On the bright side the rivers opening up has brought the Garrick on thick around the river water areas and some big Snoek are around on the North coast as well. Brusher are around in the shallows and the deep with some shoals being sighted as well. The muddy water should bring the big Daga salmon into the shallows to feed in the ginger beer coloured sea water.

In the fish pic’s this week we have Clive Honiball with a Brassy kingfish shore dive Durban, Heath and James 1st Marshmallow fish shore dive Komatipoort and Master Chris West with a decent Brusher boat dive Durban.

Saturday early bells a light offshore wind blows switching to a moderate to fresh SW wind by midmorning. Swell starts off at 1.3m jacking to 2m later in the day with the SW wind. Sunday the SW buster continues to blow from Saturday dropping off in the late afternoon. Swell starts chunky at 3m and drops off to 2.5m in the arvo.

So it looks like a dive Saturday morning early bells otherwise the weekend is set to be a blow out with the SW wind dominating.
