Bear KZN sea report Couta and swell

Well the rain swell and wind Wednesday (NE) did some damage to the conditions up and down the coast however the good news is we have decent weather this weekend albeit a bit of jacked swell.

Guy’s boat diving had decent viz south before the NE kicked in and mackies plus various other gamefish were around!

Well done Master Louis Schourie with a lekker Couta off the boat! Aweh! Troy Eloff managed to get in local and bagged a decent Ember parrot and a size scorpion rockcod! Aweh!

Peeps be careful of the scorpion rockcod spines they can cause swelling and joint pain! Hope you came right with the hot water treatment Troy!

We have warm temps form Park Rynie and up at around 25 to 26 degc with SN current and lower south coast with light to strong NS current and 23 to 22 degC water.

Swell is strong today with some ground swell from the SE at 14 seconds. It drops off a little over night however it swings from the south Saturday morning at 16 seconds 2 m plus.

Swell stays size into Sunday from the south at 13 seconds. Saturday a light SW wind blows early bells switching around to a light to moderate SE wind which fuels the swell a bit.

Sunday zero wind early bells and a NE later in the day picking up speed around 12 to 1pm which crumbles and drops the swell to 1.6m.

So ja there’s definitely action out there just be fit and swim or get a boat dive on!
