Hi peeps and welcome to another Bear report brought to you by Mydo bait swimmers and Master Watermen.

Jeeze but the gamefish have been sporadic local at the moment with the couta staying in the dirt out deep so hard to shoot however the fishermen are getting some! Cobia and Queenfish are also around with Snoek coming out middle South Coast and Zululand mainly.

Daga salmon are local with Brusher and Garrick starting to make more of an appearance as well. Shad are on the bite however mainly before sunrise and at dusk all bait sizes.

Sardines are seriously delayed at the moment because the Agulhas current is all over the place pulling the cold water out to sea as well. The Sardines move with the cold water and with inshore here staying between 22 and 24 degC they will not show up yet. Port Elizabeth side there’s action though and sporadic action off the Kei mouth.

With fish this week we have Dirk Erasmus and Chris Koen with a Queenfish and Couta fishing off Rickards bay with Allan Heydorn, Troy Eloff with a 7kg Snoek town, Russell and Dad from all4fishing with Couta and Snoek fishing off Durban, Talent Mkhezi with a Garrick Snoek combo Umzumbe, Caleb Oswald with a size yellow belly and big catface rockcod Sezela, Chris Knutsen from all4fishing with a 10.2kg Couta ski fishing North, Master Bruce Brateuseth with a decent Couta boat dive and Timothy White with a decent Cobia on a shore dive. Aweh lads lekker feeshies!

The weather this weekend is pearler! We have a southerly blowing at the moment light on the North and 20 knts on the south coast. Both Saturday and Sunday have a light offshore in the morning with a light East wind in the afternoon. Swell Saturday is around 2.3m and 2m on Sunday at 11 seconds from the South.

There’s viz middle to upper south coast however the inshore is getting washing machined by the ground swell atm. I would say there’s a dive or fishing session on! However a boat would be the best option by far!

We heading towards neap tides on Tuesday with high tide tomorrow morning at 7am and low tide at 1pm.
Sea temps are between 22 and 24 degC with Aliwal at just under 25 degC and a 1knt reverse current onnit.

As always dive safe and straight spears from the Bear.
