Bear KZN sea report Blue water South SARDINES

Well peeps after all the waves, rain and wind this week it was all doom n gloom for diving for a while however today’s little NE wind has pulled that sea right! Very lekker colour on the upper to middle south coast! And the swell is now down on the south but still up a bit on the north coast!

North coast is not ayoba viz wise ATM so head south for guaranteed diving water!

SARDINES have been feral from Port Shepstone to Bazley on the south coast today with plenty crates coming out! They should be moving North thereof tomorrow and Sunday…big shoals have also been spotted heading north further south of Port Shepstone!

On the spearfishing front Master Juggs Holtzman managed a decent Garrick on Friday which just missed the Friday report deadline! Aweh uncle!

Fishing wise the guys are catching plenty with the Sardines! Blacktip Kingfish, GT’s, Half kob (Square tail), Snoek and Garrick! Deep sea guy’s are getting Half kob, Rockcod and the odd Couta.

Weather this weekend looks boss south coast with a little more wind Durban and surrounding areas. Offshore in the morning with it switching to light to moderate NE wind in the afternoons. Swell is minimal tomorrow at 1.4m with the afternoon NE picking it up a bit to start at 1.7m Sunday morning.

We are just off Spring tides this weekend with High tide on Saturday at 05h15/17h45 and low tide 11h30. Sea temps upper South coast are around 22 to 23degC.

Aaah yes on Tuesdays report I made a small error with the South African National spearfishing competition! It’s not this year July but next year July! So plenty of time to get selected etc etc. Ashley Paul is in charge of North coast and anywhere else in KZN Alistair Jones is the guy!
