Well the sea was definitely divable weekend especially Saturday however surf picked up Sunday morning especially on the south coast with the odd 2 to 3m sets. The swell continued through to today however it was not as big this afternoon.
There’s viz Umkomaas side and Umhlali in the north. The East that’s blowing now looks set to pickup through to Wednesday morning and drops off in the afternoon. Swell is debatable however the East should flatten it a bit.
Current is predominantly SN moderate atm most spots and sea temps are hovering between 19 and 22 degC (Umkomaas). We have neap tide’s next week Monday and high tide is at 05h37/17h53 and low tide is at 11h53 tomorrow.
There’s quite a few fish hanging around the Sardines on the south especially between Umkomaas and Toti.
With fish this week we have Noah Whittle with an epic bag for a shore entry dive Snoek Couta Cape yellowtail Yellowbelly Rockcod and a tassel, Leon Peach with 5 Snoek, Willem Swart with a brace of Tasselfish Rocky bay, Morne Claasens with a decent Brace of Snoek, Kyle with a big Tasselfish and a Bronze bream and Donovan Carstens with a lekker Cracker/Brusher Bluff . Aweh lad’s lekker feesh!
Sardine activity was sighted off lower south coast today and nets were pulled out at Kelso yesterday.
Weather is looking slightly iffy atm for champs weekend however there may be a gap as the weather model changes towards weekend. We have 36 entrant’s so far and climbing! Even if you enter late you still get a t-shirt however it will have to be collected at a later stage.
As always dive safe and straight spears from the Bear.
