Shoh the rain did bring the rivers down however with the NS current flowing and the SW wind yesterday putting eddies in the current clean blue warm water has pushed in off Durban to Warner’s!
There’s a 18knt NE wind blowing though this afternoon and hopefully it doesn’t blow too late into tonight so that viz will hold off Durban for the weekend!
Current was light to moderate SN from Warner’s to Salt rock this morning but has turned around now to a light to moderate NS current.
Sea temps are up! 25 degC off the fairway bouy and Umkomaas bouy today! Inshore the temps are around 22 to 24 degC which means… Mackie’s!
Yes the Couta and Snoek are here with the warm water. Snoek are shoaling up and the Couta are singles in the 15 to 18kg range. Yellow fin tuna are definitely coming out with some gas bottles on the North coast!
With fish this week we have Dominic Fourie with a 7.5kg Blacktip kingfish Bluff shoredive, Kyle with a tank Grunter in town, Kaj with two Splitpaint parrot fish Town and Master Philip Dreyer with a decent Brusher and a 20kg Daga salmon! Aweh lads lekker feeshies!
Saturday morning the NE wind starts up again around 8am giving way to a moderate SW wind after lunch with the swell running at 1.8m.
Sunday the swell is jacked in the morning at 2.3m 9 seconds from the south with a light to moderate SW blowing.
Tide’s are at neaps with low tide at 4am and 5pm and high tide at quarter to 12pm. My best guess Saturday morning for boat and shoredive with Sunday morning boat dive if the SW comes later in the morning.
KZN trials looks like it’s on for Sunday hopefully the wind holds back and the guy’s get a good dive in!
As always dive safe and straight spears from the Bear.
