Bear KZN sea conditions report Couta Marlin

Hi peeps and welcome to another Bear report brought to you by Mydo bait swimmers.

Online YouTube report available here…

Well diving and fishing have to been tough this week with a strong SN current onnit and some large swell running combined with neap tides today.

Not much viz around so live baits have been the go-to for fishing out deeps. Water temperature is still around 25 degC and the current has slacked and is turning around to a productive NS current with the NE wind blowing at 20knts this afternoon.

Couta are coming out though check out laatie Kelsea Carr fishing with dad off the ski with a new Croc Couta PB! Master Gareth Brockett again on the fish with the catch and release of a small Black marlin! Aweh peeps lekker feeshies!

We have NE wind for the next 5 days with the tide starting to head back towards Springs. Sunday morning looks like a definite gap in the wind with the swell dropping from Saturday’s 1.8m to 1.5m so get out there as it’s peak Croc Couta time!

Snoek and YFT should be around in numbers as well long as you can find the bait! I see the Snoek have traveled as far south as Umtenweni by Port Shepstone!

Wahoo @duc is holding a spearo comp 11/12 th April biggest fish wins excluding GT Billfish and Garrick. Boat and shoredive (shoredive can add the weight of their craybag to their biggest fsh weight). Details in the pic’s below 👇.

Neap tides today with low at 07h45 and high tide at 13h45 on Saturday.

As always dive safe and straight spears from the Bear.
