South Africa spearfishing National’s 2026 Durban KZN

South Africa spearfishing National’s 2026 Durban KZN

Hi peeps it’s been amazing how fast this year has gone by and here we are already with SA spearfishing National’s around the corner starting next week Monday through to Friday.

KZN has some of the best spearfishing in the country especially during peak winter season with Sardines around and the beginning of July also brings all the winter fish from the Cape.

Conditions are looking good online for Monday, Tuesday and Friday next week which will most likely be the three dive day’s (see attached itinerary).

Weigh in will be held at Point Watersports Club (DUC) starting around 14h30/15h00 on the alloted dive days, barring any hassels, so come on down and check out what the top lad’s and ladies are getting in the competition!

Only one fish per species and a 10 fish quota are allowed and must be 1kg or over gutted and gilled on the weighmasters scale per diver (and size according to KZN regulations).

Points are awarded per species and one point per kg upto 4kg per fish.
Check the KZN trial’s PDF file attached for point scoring per species.

As it stands for now these are the province’s team’s competing this year:
WP – 7 divers
