Bear KZN sea report Windy weekend

So the Dr SW wind did bring some viz however the problem is the secondary East swell is still bumping up the sea and now with a NE on the sea, especially north coast, it’s gone washing machine inshore.

South Coast on the other hand is looking a lot better albeit a smaller secondary east swell and not much wind at the moment so not as bumpy as north coast.

I can see blue in the foam north and south coast so there is viz and the temps are okay between 25 and 26.5 degC. Current has switched to a light NS on the north and I’m sure the same will be happening on the south coast but a bit stronger lower south.

Master Louis Schourie managed to take a short right Durban Local on the boat and bagged some fish including a lovely Queen mackerel and Rocksalmon combo! Aweh. Master Alistair Jones has just got his new stealth ski and is already catching Couta off it by Warner’s. Aweh!

Saturday we have a moderate NE blowing from fairly early with a 1.8m east swell and Sunday gives way to a fresh SW Dr wind from early bells… there may be a gap early bells because the weather models battle to get the timing right on prediction starting times of offshore wind!

Low tide 7am and high at 13h20 on Saturday. Eish…boat probably best option for an early squirt! Either no1 or Aliwal for a definite dive!

Guy’s are catching Dorado out off Durban with quite a few Bonito around. Lads trawling luggs to dloti said not much happening this morning.
