Hi peeps and welcome to another Bear report brought to you by Mydo bait swimmers.

So yes the rain’s came down in buckets, bathtubs and swimming pools! 99 percent of rivers are open and brown water is gushing into the sea! Even Mamba alley by Black rock in Scottburgh!

Thank goodness we seem to be escaping the cutoff low predicted for tonight! Only a yellow level 2 warning for thunderstorms Saturday. Gasp…

However we have neap tide’s atm which is a small blessing in disguise because there is not a lot of tidal movement to push the brown water even further out to sea!

Aliwal shoal may have some viz along with Landers and no1 reef out off Durban. So definitely only boat diving atm out deep. Colour line is sitting just inside the ships anchorage off Durban and it looks like just inside the Shoal down south coast.

Zululand is definitely an option and it looks like the Couta action is on there atm. Lloyd was kayak fishing up there recently and got some Couta off the point at Cape Vidal. Here’s a link to his YouTube channel video of the trip….

We have a size swell from the East running today at 2.5m 10 seconds so things really looking messy this arvo with a 25knt NE wind pumping now.

Saturday the NE wind continues to blow and drops off towards the afternoon with a 2.2m swell running from the East at 9 seconds. High tide is at 10h00 and low is at 16h50.

Sunday we have ballistic weather with only a light onshore wind blowing in the afternoon and swell down to 2m from the SE at 9 seconds. Head out deep on a boat for a dive… inshore will be trashed for a while!

Sea temps are still around 24/25 degC and NS current is onnit especially from Hibberdene and south thereof.

As always dive safe and straight spears from the Bear.
