Hey man Mr Poseidon can we please get a break from all this rain and brown sea? Small cold front coincided with moisture laden air coming down from the Cyclone up north by Moz and KZN was in the rain crosshairs once again.
Plenty rain and thunder last night into today with the majority it seems from Durban up north to Richards bay. Rivers are out (Umhlali, Tongaat and Cutting Bluff) and pushing brown water into the sea yet again… Meh!
On the brighter side the Couta have arrived en masse! From Ballito down to the Bluff decent fish were coming out this week! There are plenty Seapike around as well as Queen mackerel.
We have Alywyn having a ballistic paddle off Umdloti with two Couta and a Yellowfin tuna, Rimo and Ryan getting some Couta on dead baits paddling off the Bluff, Leon Peach shooting some Snoek up north, Colin shooting a good Snoek haul at Sheffield, Master Louis Schourie and Tim getting some Chevron Barracuda at Ballito and Allan Heydorn shooting a bus 35kg GT and 10kg Chevron Barracuda up at Richards bay! Aweh lads lekker catches!
As for sea conditions this arvo the swell has jacked bigtime and we have a blustery onshore blowing atm turning the sea upside down. Meh. Allan Heydorn says plenty rain Richards bay and swell has also jacked bigtime up there.
Saturday we have ballistic weather just some size swell from the SE at 9 seconds. Light S wind in the morning and a light onshore in the afternoon.
Swell does drop a bit towards the afternoon.
Sunday we have less swell at 2.5m from the SE at 9 seconds however the NE is going to blow hard but only from midmorning on.
Full moon and spring tides bring us a low tide at 10h30 and high at 04h30 and 16h33. Oh boy springs to spread the love mud around the sea…MEH!
As always dive safe and straight spears from the Bear.
