So amazingly we have not had rain for two weeks (touch wood) and the swell has settled down. Viz is definitely improving up and down the Coast with temps around the 23degC mark and a light NS current.
Fishing wise there’s not much happening local today however apparently the guys are bending up Ballito side. Guy’s are catching small snoek middle south coast probably due to the water being warmer there at 24degC plus.
Spearfishing wise shore diving has been tough however Gordon managed to sneak in at Selection in Umdloti and got himself a decent Snoek and a size Indian mirror fish. Aweh.
Viz has definitely improved today and with the weather playing the game into the weekend there will be diving on the cards!
There’s a light NE blowing this afternoon with the swell around 1.5m at 11 seconds from the south. Tomorrow there’s minimal wind in the morning with a NE wind picking up later in the day. Swell is at 1.6m 12 seconds from the south.
Tides we are on springs with high tide at 04h20 and 16h40 and low tide at 10h30. Tidal difference is quite large at 1.6m which is good to get some action inshore 2hrs before and until the tides.
I’m sure I’ll have more fish pic’s for Friday’s report looking at the conditions ahead. Get that dusty gear ready!
As always dive safe and straight spears from the Bear.
