Well peeps it’s been a tough week trying to find decent or even semi decent viz for diving however the fish are out there we just need to be able to see them!

We have a 20knt NE wind blowing here in Durban at the moment and the swell has settled a bit from this morning’s crunching surf. Secondary NE swell is starting up though and swell period has dropped to 7 seconds from 12.

The NE wind drops off tonight and we have excellent weather forecast for Saturday with a light offshore in the morning and a light onshore in the afternoon.

Sunday we have a buster SW wind coming through early bells which might not be as strong early bells but will definitely pick up speed during the day. Swell start’s a 2m and picks up to 3.5m in the afternoon.

Sea temps have dropped off a tad inshore to 23 degC however it’s still around 25degc further offshore with a medium to strong NS current onnit in most places.

As for fish guy’s on ski’s are still getting decent Couta in numbers on the north coast and there are still some Wahoo around the Aliwal shoal area however things have been a bit murky and sharky out there.

I have some fish pic’s from last month of Master Gerhard Vosloo and crew getting some decent action out deep! Well done Noah on a lekker Cracker and a size Speckled snapper, Heath with a early Daga salmon and a wahoo, Master Gerhard with a Cracker and wahoo and Master Liam with a Wahoo and Couta. Aweh lads top diving!

So there’s definitely quality fish around we just have to bite the bullet and dive in the murk and Sharks!

As always dive safe and straight spears from the Bear.
