Bear KZN sea report Ballistic weather Couta Pompano
Hi peeps and welcome to another Bear report brought to you by Mydo bait swimmers.
So we are in for ballistic conditions this weekend! We have had awesome weather this week as well and the viz is definitely improving in spots.
There’s a light onshore blowing this afternoon and swell is around 1.2m! Temps are down a bit though at 22.5 degC most spots with Umkomaas being the warmest at 24degC! Current is light to moderate NS in the main.
And yes there are fish around however the guy’s did battle a bit yesterday with there being minimal current which causes the gamefish to spread out. One two boats did get some hatches filled with Couta all in the 8 to 17kg range.
Well done Diets with a lekker Couta fishing off Durban with Skipper Garreth Leroux! Well done Tyrone Byrne with a lekker Couta off the north coast on his ski a new PB at 17.4kg! Well done Troy Elof with a trophy Pompano of 11.5kg stone shot in 1.5m viz local! Aweh lads lekker feesh!
Guys have been getting Snoek early mornings off Tongaat and Umkomaas although they are on the smaller size they are around in numbers.
Saturday morning we have a light onshore wind in the morning and a light onshore wind in the afternoon with the swell starting at 1.5m and dropping off to 1.1m in the afternoon. High tide at 05h50 /18h26 and low tide at 12h26.
