Bear KZN sea conditions report Snoek Daga salmon Coppers Brusher Mulloway

Well the conditions did improve during the week and there was some diving however nothing noteworthy to report spearfishing wise.

Fishing wise it’s been going well for both deep sea fishing and fishing off the side! Big Snoek and Garrick from the side and boat! Even dart Couta around Umgeni area which was hot today as well with the Mackies chowing down.

Bottom fishing wise the Coppers are around in numbers along with the Daga salmon and Geelbek out deeps.

We had a light east today which has now started puffing SW which will continue through tomorrow morning. Swell stays around 2m at 14 seconds from the south Saturday and Sunday however take this with a pinch of salt because the weather sites have been out recently.

SARDINES were busy both yesterday and today off Scottburgh with Yellow fin tuna, Dolphin and Whales piling in for a chow. I saw a smaller size Sardine shoal off umnini river mouth this morning.

Sunday we have NE wind which blows from Saturday evening through to the late Arvo picking up speed after 9am. So diving looking sketchy for this weekend however there is viz around Further up north coast and down south coast from the Bluff.

We have a lunar eclipse/blood moon on Sunday starting from moonrise just after 17h30 till 19h45. Should be awesome to watch! This also may affect the sea adversely so let’s see what happens!

Spring tides Monday and tide’s for Saturday are high tide at 3 PM and low tide at 7 thirty AM.

With the only fish this week we have Saihil at Umdloti this morning with a Lekker Snoek! Aweh Saihil!
