Hi peeps and welcome to another Bear report brought to you by Mydo bait swimmers.
So yes we had good weather this week with minimal rain and the sea temps picked up nicely from Hibberdene in the south to Tugela river up North. Average temperature is around 25degc with predominantly a NS current onnit…prime Croc Couta conditions!
Viz has been on the low side but has improved upto 6 to 8m on the north coast however south of Umkomaas inshore has not been great at all.
Most of the mackerel action seems to be from Westbrook down to Umkomaas yet this could change as the sea temperature has increased further south.
Trevor Pitt @trevpitt went for a paddle off Umdloti and got himself a class fish of note! Croc Couta coming in at 35.2kg on the scales! Aweh! Kyle Richter from USC managed a Croc as well last weekend at 21.65kg on the spear! Aweh! Master Bruce not to be left out this week managed a bus Wahoo off his blue ski on the spear! Aweh!
Yoh! Some lekker fish coming out! We have marginal to good conditions this weekend before the rain Sunday night into Monday so get your game on!
We have a 20knt NE wind blowing now which blows through till Saturday morning dropping off towards afternoon with the swell dropping as well. Neap tide’s this weekend with a high at 08h10 and a low at 14h50.
Sunday morning we have an offshore wind blowing turning into a light onshore in the afternoon. However the swell jacks midmorning at 2.2m 16 seconds from the SE.
Other than the Couta and Wahoo action things are pretty quiet in the shallows with the usual kingies in the gullies and runs.
As always dive safe and straight spears from the Bear
