Bear KZN sea report Croc Couta Bus Wahoo GT
Hi peeps and welcome to another Bear report brought to you by Mydo bait swimmers.
So even with the brown water around fish are coming out plenty! Croc Couta, big GT’s, bus Wahoo and various other Kingfish species. As I said in Fridays report a Croc was going to come out in the Couta classic held this weekend and so it did!
Well done Garreth Brockett with the winning fish on the last day’s fishing! 29.86kg Croc Couta on live bait on the north coast! Aweh! How’s a boat ride uncle, lol.
Yes guy’s did dive (boat dive) over the weekend and most if not all the action was off Scottburgh. Dirty layer ontop with some viz underneath and strong NS current.
Well done to JP and crew getting fish on two launches off the Aliwal shoal area. Pictured we have Master Louis Schourie and Jerone Govender with a Couta, big Fulvie kingie and Jerone’s PB GT of 20kg. Next launch it was JP turn with a decent Couta and Master Sean Burns with a Bus Wahoo. Aweh lads!
At the moment we have a 15knt NE wind blowing and swell is around 1.8m at 6 seconds from the East. Sea is going from brown to green with some colour offshore.
Current has been NS for the last three days. Today it’s stronger the further you travel south with light to moderate until Hibberdene and from there down it’s very strong.
Sea temps are between 23 and 26 degC however down past Hibberdene it drops off to 21/22 degC.
Weather tomorrow (Wednesday) is awesome with a light offshore in the morning and a light onshore in the afternoon. Swell is light at 1.6m 6 seconds from the East.
We are just off spring tides with high tide tomorrow at 5am and 5 thirty pm and low tide at ten past 11am.
So ja tomorrow should be great for fishing and diving (deeps) with that ballistic forcast. Looks like North will probably clean up in the shallows before South coast.
As always dive safe and straight spears from the Bear.
