Bear KZN sea report First Proper Cold front Big swell

Hi peeps and welcome to another Bear report brought to you by Mydo bait swimmers.

Online YouTube report available here…

Well it’s been a pretty quiet week for inshore diving with just about zero viz around however there’s some good viz to be had off Aliwal shoal if you can get a boat ride!

With the arrival of our 1st winter cold front today we should start seeing winter fish like Garrick, Geelbek and Daga salmon arriving in numbers on the KZN coastline.

Wahoo and croc Couta with shoal Couta are around so targeting these would be my no1 choice atm!

Bad news for Saturday we have a strong swell pulling in upto 4m offshore and a strong offshore wind in the morning. That is bad news for fishing and awesome News for surfing!

The good news is Sunday looks great! Swell starts at 2.5m and drops off to 1.7m in the arvo with a light offshore wind in the morning and a light onshore in the arvo!

Sea temperature is around 23/25 degC from Port Shepstone and north there of. South of Port Shepstone the current is north south and water colder at 22 degC.

We are close to neap tide’s (Monday) so very little tidal difference between high tide at 07h05 and low tide at 13h27 on Saturday.

As always dive safe and straight spears from the Bear.
