So as predicted the SW wind busted through with a bit of a storm on Wednesday and brought some proper winter swell with it at 3m 14 seconds from the south.
This large and incharge swell is what we need to clear out the banks and gullies however there’s still lots of sediment around from all the flooding we have had recently and the ground swell picks that up into the water column and pokes the viz.
Hence the brown to green water we have inshore atm along the coast especially however we should get viz over the weekend on the deeper line out past 18m.
Guy’s are getting Daga salmon out deep even on the north coast with Geelbek showing on some of the marks as well. There are plenty Rockcod around as they gather for breeding and feeding when the sardines arrive.
Inshore Garrick and GT’s are around and Brusher should start making an appearance soon especially down the south coast.
We have great weather again this weekend with light Northerly winds in morning and light onshore in the afternoon (Saturday the NE may pick up a bit in the arvo but will die off early in the evening).
Swell starts large and incharge Saturday at 2.7m 13 seconds from the south and drops off in the afternoon. Sunday the swell starts at 1.9m and drops off nicley to 1.6m in the afternoon at 12 seconds from the south.
Sea temps are down and are sitting between 21.5 and 22.5 degC with current in the main light to moderate SN.
So Sunday is go day for shore diving and Saturday and Sunday for a boat dive.
As always dive safe and straight spears from the Bear .
