The NE we had during the week did nothing to improve the inshore water quality however today’s Dr SW wind seems to be doing the trick!

We have a nice contact line moving in off Umhlanga and Umdloti this afternoon and Scottburgh has decent colour as well. However we do have some swell predicted this weekend at 2m plus 13 to 14 seconds from the south.

North coast is looking flat but some swell starting up on the sets down south. Both Saturday and Sunday the swell is smaller North than South coast. Current was mixed up this morning however it should be SN in most spots besides lower south coast.

The weather and tide’s line up perfectly this weekend with High tide at 06h17/18h47 and low at 12h30 on Saturday. Both Saturday and Sunday there is but a zephyr of wind! Light offshore mornings with light onshore wind in the afternoon!

Sea temps start at 18 degC down at Port Edward and climb to 22 degC heading up North.

SARDINES are being sighted in a few spots in the Transkei, mainly pockets, with some massive action in the Umtata mouth area. The main shoals are sitting between Cinsta and East London but will be moving north after the warmer water get’s pushed out to sea along the Transkei coast.

Guy’s are getting Daga salmon and Grunter atm with the sardines. Snoek and Couta action is still mainly north coast and around the Umkomaas area.

With that colder water down south by Port Edward we gonna see Sardines in KZN sooner rather than later. I’m still sticking by the 3rd of June prediction! Let’s see what happens!

As always dive safe and straight spears from the Bear.
