Well the sea was awesome over the weekend and Monday however the NE wind yesterday put a spanner in the works! But low and behold Ballito and up was crystal today and Margate area cleaned up nicely!

Margate and Ramsgate was the centre of attention today with a large shoal of Sardines arriving off the Margate pier! Predators were around including Shoals of Snoek! Couple of nets were pulled at Ramsgate as well as Margate.

With fish we have Master Juggs Holtzman with a decent Snoek local, Kobus Delport with a bus 5.6kg Tasselfish Umkomaas, One Indian fellow with a Hawks bill turtle (safely released), Carmen Brown in Richards bay catching a broken arm, Matt Oakley with a Snoek north, Gordon with a decent 22.5kg Daga salmon Scottburgh, Caleb Usswald Couta and Yellowfin tuna fishing off Scottburgh and Deven from Chilliwhip with a 2.8kg Rock salmon also off Scottburgh! Aweh well done everyone!

We have a Moderate NE blowing now into the evening with a light offshore tomorrow morning early switching around to a light NE wind in the afternoon. Swell starts at 2m plus and settles down after high tide at 8 am running at 8 seconds from the East. Low tide is at 2pm and by then the swell will be around 1.6m. Sea temps are between 21 and 23degC atm with current switching to NS in most spots.

Umhlanga Spearfishing club had their crayfish compo on Sunday with loads of crays being weighed in with the good conditions. Master Richardt Botes won Biggest cray, Master Garreth Brockett won Biggest Bag (7.2kg) impressive! And Richard Forman was 1st overall with combination of biggest cray and biggest bag! Aweh!

So as you can see it was a busy weekend!

As always dive safe and straight spears from the Bear!
